for people who require more than 5 hours support a week, up to 24 hour support with 1:1 intensive support in the community
Currently we provide support to many individuals in several houses in the Otago area for people with a moderate to severe intellectual disability, who can exhibit challenging behaviours.

These houses have intensive staffing ratios (generally 1:1) and are staffed 24 hours a day to meet the safety needs of the people we support. People living in these houses receive comprehensive support from staff trained in working with people with challenging behaviours. Staff work alongside the people we support, and where-ever possible, encourage them to be more independent.

for people who have a mild to moderate disability and who may require an environment where risk for the individual or the community has to be minimised
We have successfully tailored a service to meet these individual's needs. People in these services may be in town or on rural locations and the staffing ratio is generally 3 staff to 4 people being supported.

for people who have a mild intellectual disability
For people with a mild intellectual disability we mange other houses like flats. They can have two or three people living together and only 1 or 2 staff on at different times of the day, depending on the needs of the people we support. In these houses people are offered support with budgeting, social, recreational, personal hygiene and domestic skills. People who join this service will be encouraged, where possible to learn skills that will enable them to eventually live on their own, or with less support.

for women who would like to learn to live independently
The CCT provides a service especially designed for women looking to live independently.

This service has been set up in a house that provides two single bedrooms in the upstairs area and two flats downstairs. The downstairs flats are made up of a bedroom and a living room area with a kitchenette. Both flats share the downstairs toilet and shower. The whole house shares the laundry.

This service is staffed 24 hours a day, with at least on, but for some periods during the day, two staff on duty. All staff employed in this particular service are women and are trained in working with people with intellectual disabilities who may also have challenging behaviours.
