Due to a new Service opening we are looking for enthusiastic support staff

• Do you like playing sports?

• Prepared to help out with cooking and household duties?

The Community Care Trust supports adults in Otago and Southland who have Intellectual Disabilities and / or Autistic Spectrum Disorder to have full and meaningful lives.

We have a positive and professional work environment with a strong value base.

We work to ensure age, gender, abilities and interest is a close match between the support worker and the person we support.

The successful applicant will be proactive in finding solutions and be positive in their outlook. You will need to be flexible to adapt to changing situations and circumstances.

Work hours will be a mixture of possibly weekdays / weekends / evenings / sleepovers.

There will be personal challenges, a positive workplace and career opportunities.

If you have a "can do" attitude, able to think on your feet, well-linked to your community and have a genuine belief that we should include people who have an intellectual disability in every day life, then we would like to hear from you.

A background of working in the field of development / intellectual disability is not essential, however a positive attitude is.

Applicants will require the following:

• Current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to sit one)
• Full current Drivers License
• Sense of humour, a good work ethic and integrity
• Be up-to-date with trends in gaming technology such as PS3 and computers

The successful applicant will receive training and orientation, professional supervision and opportunities for further professional development including both internal and external training.

Rate of pay after seven months of on the job training and study requirements is a minimum of $15.40 an hour.
