The Specialist Service Manager provides professional leadership of the Specialist team and ensures that an ethical,
evidence based practice underpins all the activities of the team.
The RIDSAS Manager has a legal obligation to support and oversee people
subject to the Intellectual Disability Compulsory Care and
Rehabilitation (IDCCR) Act 2003. This includes the writing of, implementation
and overseeing of Care Plans.
Under the IDCCR Act, he is responsible for managing the support, risk,
development of Care responsibilities and management of Care Plans for each individual under the Act.
The Behaviour Specialists ensure that people supported by the CCT receive the highest quality of service in line
with the NZ Disbability Strategy . They ensure that all programmes and support are non-aversive
and have clear and measurable outcomes and that they are professionally implemented by staff in accordance with current best practice.
They are members of the Crisis Response team and in addition to their specialist tasks, have responsibility around training, risk management and ensuring that best practice is adhered to.
The Intern Behaviour Specialists are engaged in undertaking the CCT Level 3 Behaviour Specialist training. They carry out the duties of a Behaviour Specialist under supervision and as they
complete the agreed competencies have an increasing range of autonomy and sign off authority.
The Specialist Group Key Worker can provide information, and assistance to coordinate any accommodation changes
indentified by either the people receiving support or the support team. They work closely with the RIDSAS Manager to ensure all aspects of Care Plans have been implemented and followed.
The Health Educator is responsible for the planning, implementing and
monitoring of individual
Healthy Lifestyle
Programmes. This may consist of various recreational activities, one-on-one support with nutrition, meal
planning, weight-loss and exercise programmes.
